Dear Ian, you have had, and will continue to have, a profound positive impact on my life, as a follower of Christ, and as a close friend. You were the instrument God used to tranform and deepen my relationship with Him. I will miss your friendship, guidance, prayer support and those incredible spontaneous, deep times of worship we shared as we played guitar together. I am richly blessed to have known you.

I will remember Ian as a devout Christian with a strong conviction of faith. He was an influential male figure and role model to me in my early life growing up in SA when school friends with his boys, Kevin and Michael. I remember him playing guitar and singing his songs, “The Upper Room” about the disciples receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit written in Acts comes to mind. He was always so kind to me. Although I haven’t seen him for many years, I’ll miss him. I send my deepest condolences to his family.

Ian you were such a special gift to our Alive church family. Your commitment to God & others was a wonderful witness, & I loved the way you worshipped so freely (remembering a special evening around the fire at our church camp). You were always available to pray with people trusting in God’s goodness. I’m so grateful this is not the end for you but the continuation of life with God, Many blessings with my prayers for Jenni, Michael, Kevin & the family Heather

Ian you will be missed by so many people all over the world, those pictures from south Africa look great. Glad you got to see kev and micheal together and have your day at Leeds. RIP ❤

To my dearest friend and my spiritual dad You were such a very special gift to me and to my family, and as I told you so many times, I loved you as a daughter loves her father. I will always remember you for your big warm hugs, your hearty laughter, your fun sense of humour with your witty words and comments, you were larger than life, and so was your faith! You believed for and you prayed for things with all of your heart, because you trusted God’s word for yourself and for others, and I know you helped to change so many people's lives through your prayers and your faith. I will always remember our many hours spent together in prayer, those times for me were the sweetest memories I have of you, and the reason you became like a father to me over the few years I knew you on this earth. Thank you for holding me up so many times, for being available, for caring, and for loving me and my family like you did. Today as I grieve the loss of a very special friend and father on this side of Heaven, I also celebrate knowing that you are with our Lord in glory, singing and making music like you’ve always loved to do.
